is offering a one-day theatre-based Storytelling Workshop for children

Venue: British Council Library, Prestige Takt, 23 Kasturba Road Cross (Opposite Visvesvaraiah Industrial and Technological Museum), Bangalore.
Date: Sunday, 4 May 2014
Time: 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Fee: Rs 1,000 (inclusive of cold drinks and snacks)
Parents are requested to ensure that participants carry a packed lunch
About the workshop
This workshop will help children to express themselves without inhibition and develop confidence about speaking in public. Over the course of the day, children will be introduced to some of the techniques of building a story, using games and group theatre and movement exercises. The day will culminate with the children presenting the stories they have together created.
Eligibility and deadline
The workshop is limited to 15 participants between the ages of 8 and 12 years. To register, please write to sarita.tfaindia@gmail.com with your child’s name and age, as well as a short note on the child’s interests and hobbies. About the facilitator
Vikram Sridhar is a storyteller and theatre practitioner based in Bangalore. He has been working with a number of theatre groups across India for about a decade now. He is primarily associated with Tahatto, a theatre group which performs regularly at various spaces and festivals in the country. Around the Story Tree is his initiative to reach out to children and adults from different backgrounds through storytelling, using folktales in a contemporary form to connect listeners to their environment.
